The granny hair trend is a new phenomena of young women coloring their hair to different shades of gray. For centuries, people have tried to hide graying hair with methods like dyeing, coloring and henna since gray hair is a sign of aging and something that people do not want to be associated with. Hence younger women defying this age old perception in the society and opting to purposely gray their hair become a noteworthy trend soon. Many fashion designers like Jean-Paul Gualtier, Chanel and Gareth Pugh (depicted this trend ) on their models in their fashion shows. Many celebrities like Lady Gaga, Pink, Rihanna, Nicole Ritchie and Kelly Osbourne also tried out this new trend of graying the hair. Since gray hair was traditionally identified with aged folks, this new trend spread by the term 'Granny Hair'. Soon many regular, everyday (women started trying out different shades of gray hairstyles ) as well.
